Welcome to Timberwolves Soccer Club. The following information will give you an overview of our program, as well as the commitment expected of the parents and players.
Timberwolves Soccer Club (TSC) is devoted to providing the best environment to develop the young, aspiring, and committed soccer player. Our coaches give many hours on behalf of their teams as well as attending required coaching licensing classes. TSC offers a competitive soccer program for girls and boys in the U10 through U19 age groups. Our mission is focused on player development in the sport of soccer and we continually work to enhance our program.
TSC Club Soccer
Once each calendar year, typically in June, we hold open try-outs for all teams. No player is guaranteed a position on a TSC team, even if they are already rostered on a TSC team. Since we are a competitive club, it is our duty to choose the best players in attendance at the try-out for each team. We will form multiples teams at each age group if we have the numbers and the talent to do so.
The seasonal year for TSC includes both the fall and spring seasons. Players that are invited to join a TSC team must make a commitment to serve on that team for both seasons. TSC teams practice at least one night per week, most practice two nights per week. The coach will choose which night(s), time, and location. Players will come properly dressed, with a water bottle and ball. Attendance at practice and all games is expected from all players.
TSC teams typically attend two tournaments per year. The tournaments typically fall on holiday weekends. Players are expected to participate in these tournaments with their teams. Teams may also participate in a summer jamboree, typically in late August. This is an excellent opportunity for the teams to get competitive experience prior to the start of the regular season, and as such all players should expect to participate in this league event.
TSC players are required to purchase and wear a Timberwolves uniform. Our priamry club colors are purple and white. Optional items are also available for purchase through the club (TSC jackets, sweatshirts, fleece etc.).
TSC teams are travel teams. The leagues we are part of, New Hamphsire Soccer League (NHSL), and Northeast Soccer League (formerly Massachusettes MAPLE League) set our schedules each season. Players are expected to attend all of their soccer games. Most teams will have 4 home games and 4 away games. Our home field is Woodlock Park in Atkinson. Teams will travel locally to towns like Hampstead, Windham, Salem, Nashua, Derry, or Manchester but might also go to towns as far as Keene or Peterborough. Older teams (U12 and above) are placed in groupings according to their record. Teams registered in NSL may have longer travel distances to their away games.
Registration fees vary by season, according to the age group, roster size, etc. Typical full year registration fees, not including uniforms, are between $500-650. The registration fee is paid in 3 installments with final payment due in October. Spring-only team fees are less depending on the team’s program.
Early Development Program (EDP)
TSC participates in the Early Development Program (EDP) starting with U9 players.
EDP is a coalition of local towns supporting small-sided soccer, which focuses on having fun while developing skills for the younger players. Some people might choose EDP as a stepping-stone to move up into the competitive travel program offered by TSC, while others may not be ready for the level of commitment required. This is an individual choice for you and your player.
Try-outs are offered yearly and players should decide to try-out for this level of soccer only when they are ready. We will offer U9 boys and girls teams. The number of teams we will offer will depend on the numbers that attend try-outs.
TSC EDP teams typically practice one night per week. The coach will choose the practice night(s), time, and the location of the practice. Players need to come to practice properly dressed (including shin pads), with a water bottle, and a soccer ball. Attendance at practice is expected from all players.
TSC is aware that in the current economy that financial hardship is a reality. We encourage anyone who in this that situation to contact the club immediately to discuss options.
